Joyce Steeby, soprano, received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Kansas in December, 1995.  While at KU, she had the privilege of singing in the Chamber Choir under the direction of Professor Simon Carrington.

After teaching public school choral music at the secondary level for many years, Joyce now enjoys working as staff accompanist, adjunct faculty, in the music department of Kansas City Kansas Community College.   She also serves as Program Coordinator and Private Voice Instructor for the Music Scholars Program sponsored by the Kansas City Jazz Orchestra.

Honored to be invited to sing in the newly founded Simon Carrington Chamber Singers, Joyce also lends her voice to two other vocal ensembles, the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory Collegium Vocale under the direction of Dr. Ryan Board and the Trinity Choir of Grace and Holy Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Kansas City, Missouri, under the direction of Canon John L. Schaefer, organist and choirmaster.  She has studied voice with Dr. Phyllis Brill at the University of Kansas, and German Lieder with Madame Thilde Beuing, Professor Emerita, UMKC Conservatory of Music.
