Gail Nakano

In addition to being a chemistry major at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY, Gail dedicates much time to music, singing as a member of the Vassar College Choir under Christine Howlett and the Vassar Madrigal Singers under noted counter-tenor, Drew Minter, and studying voice with mezzo-soprano, Mary Nessinger.  She has been soloist in works such as Bach’s St. John’s Passion, Haydn’s Missa in tempore belli, and Byrd’s Mass for Four Voices.  In 2008, Gail starred in the Vassar production of Dido and Aeneas with the role of Dido under the direction of Drew Minter and Miriam Charney.  Gail has devoted summers to singing – in 2005 at the Westminster Vocal Institute and Chamber Choir with James Jordan, in 2006 with the Idyllwild Festival Choir with Grant Gershon of the Los Angeles Master Chorale, and in 2007 at the Norfolk Chamber Choir and Choral Conducting Workshop with Simon Carrington.
