Erin Keller

Erin Keller, mezzo-soprano from Kansas City, has performed in many styles.  She had a lead role in the Kansas City Civic Opera’s production of Wise Women, playing The Crone.  Also, she was a soloist with the Kansas City new music ensemble called New Ear and with the performance art group the OwenCox Dance Group.  She was a featured soloist at Unity Temple on the Plaza including playing the Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors. She was a member of the Kansas City Chorale for six years being the featured alto soloist in all concerts her last year.  With the Chorale, she sang on the five-time Grammy-nominated CDs Eternal Rest and Grechaninov: Passion Week.  The most recent recording she sang on, Rheinberger: Sacred Choral Works, was nominated this year.  Miss Keller was the Children’s Choir Director at Asbury United Methodist Church and a featured soloist with the choir for one year.  She is also an experienced jazz singer, sitting in with some of the top Kansas City jazz musicians.  While Miss Keller was earning a Bacholelor’s Degree in Voice Performance at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, she performed in several operas and in all the major choral performances including the following: Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, Stravinsky’s Les Noces, Britten’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, Il Tabarro, several Bach Cantatas and Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms.  Miss Keller also has experience accompanying soloists and choral ensembles on piano and was a successful private voice and piano teacher in the Kansas City Metro area for six years, including teaching at Penn Valley Community College and Paseo Academy of the Fine and Performing Arts.  Now Erin Keller is working toward a Master’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Colorado in Boulder.
